Cryolipolysis

Cryolipolysis is a method of cooling fatty tissues to cause their breakdown (lipolysis). The result of the procedure is a reduction in body fat. Lipids from fat cells are released and transported through the lymphatic system. Lipids in fat cells crystallize at a higher temperature than other cells containing water. Thanks to this, cryolipolysis destroys only fat cells, and saves other tissues, such as skin, muscles and nerves.

About the treatment

The procedure does not require any tests or any preparations. It lasts an hour. A special applicator is applied to the area from which we want to get rid of body fat. The applicator is vacuum and sucks in the tissue. Thanks to the applicator, heat is taken from the cells according to the selected treatment profile. The sensors built into the applicator are connected to the control panel for continuous monitoring and cooling control. The main purpose of the procedure is to cool fat cells and to cause their death. Fat cells (adipocytes) found in subcutaneous tissue (under the dermis) are mainly cells rich in saturated fatty acids especially sensitive to low temperatures. On the other hand, adjacent blood vessels, peripheral nerves, melanocytes, fibroblasts or low-fat cells are much less sensitive to the effects of the refrigerant. Thanks to this temperature difference, it is possible to remove fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissues. Frozen fat cells are gradually eliminated and excreted from the body, thanks to which from week to week after the procedure the thickness of adipose tissue decreases.

The process of removing fat cells treated with cryolipolysis is as follows:

– directly by crystallization followed by apoptosis within 2 to 6 weeks and a progressive process of cell dissolution with gradual release of lipids.

– indirectly, as a result of stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system, which provokes lipolysis.

Depending on the surface area of the body that will be treated, more than one treatment may be necessary.

E.g:

  • to be able to remove fat cells from the abdomen, 2 treatments are needed,
  • for each roll of fat in the waist – 1 treatment,
  • lower back – 2 treatments.
  • FAQ
  • What temperatures?

Clinical studies have shown that the most optimal temperature for effective breakdown of fat cells depending on the amount of residual fat is

1.for slightly obese people, only the “sculpting” treatment is needed from +5 to 0 degrees C.

2.for obese people with visible fat folds from 0 to -5 degrees C.

3.for very obese people with large fat folds from -5 to -10 degrees C.

Temperatures lower than -10 degrees could be dangerous, and temperatures higher than +5 ineffective.

    Is the procedure painful?

The treatment is non-invasive and rather painless, although you can feel the cold and the sensation of skin sucking. Redness and bruising may appear. Some people may also experience a brief decrease in sensation in the area of the treated skin. A small hematoma may develop that will resorb within a few days. Immediately after the procedure, the patient can resume his normal activities without feeling any particular discomfort.

    What happens after the procedure?

The results are not immediately apparent. You have to wait from several weeks to several months for the body to get rid of fat cells damaged during the procedure. They are eliminated from the body slowly during the body’s metabolic process, just like fats from food. The frequency of treatments in series – due to the fact that the results are visible only after approx. 3 weeks after the treatment, another treatment on the same area can be performed not earlier than 4 weeks after the previous treatment. Only after four months you can see the final effect. Beauty salons promise you can lose up to 40 percent. adipose tissue from the treated area. The effects should last for at least six months. About 30% to 40% of the effects of the treatment will be visible within 15 days, but to fully appreciate the most important results of the treatment, we must wait at least 6 weeks. Only at this point will we decide on the need for another session.

    Who is Cryolipolysis for?

Certainly not for people who want to get rid of fatty tissue from large areas. The effects of cryolipolysis are best seen in small areas. The treatment is most often used in three areas: on the abdomen, back (sides) and the so-called breeches, i.e. the lower part of the hips and the upper part of the thighs. However, cryolipolysis is not recommended for people who want to reduce the circumference of the thighs, hips or get rid of fat from large areas of the body.

  • Results
  • The first visible results can be expected 2-3 weeks after the treatment. Fat cells damaged as a result of low temperature will be gradually removed by macrophages – food cells of the immune system and metabolized. This test pace is individual for each organism and cannot be assumed in advance. Therefore, the effects are visible at different times from the first treatment.

Clinical studies of people undergoing the Cryolipolysis procedure have shown that the most optimal temperature in relation to body fat is:

    • for slightly obese people requiring only “sculpting” treatments from +5 to -10 degrees C.
    • for obese people with visible fat folds from 0 to -5 degrees C.
    • for very obese people with large fat folds from -5 to -13 degrees C.
  • Advantages
    • excludes crossing the skin barrier – non-invasive treatment
    • does not require any recovery period, vacation, etc.
    • comfortable and safe
    • few contraindications to use
    • effective !!!
  • Side effects
  • As a result of the negative pressure and low temperature up to 10 degrees C, you can observe:

    • local discomfort and tension in the place where the head is applied due to the negative pressure
    • after the treatment, at the site where the head is applied, visible redness and bruising that disappear from several minutes to several hours after the procedure
    • possible bruises with more sensitive skin that will disappear after a few days
    • possible slight swelling and pain in the treated areas, lasting up to 48 hours after the procedure
  • Contraindications
    • patients with implanted medical equipment, such as: pacemakers, artificial life support devices, portable ECG measurement devices
