Permanent Makeup
and Tattoo Removal
At a glance

The Q-Switch Neodymium Yag Laser (Nd-YAG) is one of the most modern devices that has found its application in both beauty salons, wellness rooms and doctor’s offices.

Q-Switch LASER FEATURES:

  • tattoo removal (also colored)
  • permanent makeup removal
  • carbon peeling

The Q-Switch laser emits pulses of the nanosecond order and thus emits a very high energy density in a short time. During the procedure, the dye is photomechanically broken down into finer particles due to the high rate of energy supply by the device. Fragments of pigment to some extent are eliminated from the top layers of the skin through its microdamaging. Dye particles remaining in deeper layers can be removed during the phagocytosis process. The use of this method carries a minimal risk of complications.

Laser removal of permanent make-up of lips

Removing red dye with a laser from the mouth is more complicated. If it is built on a warm, red base, then with each treatment the color gradually brightens. If, on the other hand, it is built on the basis of cold-blue, then after the first treatment it is discolored in navy blue. This is because the laser eliminates the red molecule and becomes dominant blue. During subsequent treatments – usually 2-3 – the dye is removed with a filter to a dark color. Therefore, in laser pigment removal procedures from the lip red, it is extremely important to perform a laser test on a small piece of the mouth, so that the client can consciously decide whether she wants to walk with a black contour for the next months, which will be gradually eliminated during subsequent treatments.

Laser removal of permanent eyelid makeup

It is also necessary to assess whether the dye is at all possible to remove. If the line on the eyelid is pigmented very deeply, there is a large accumulation of pigment in it, then the use of a laser beam in such a sensitive place can cause it to burst, which threatens to create a scar. The use of low parameters, in turn, will not produce the expected results. The best removes from the eyelids so-called pigment migrations. Positive effects are often achieved already during one treatment.

  • Recommendations
  • Recommendations after laser removal of tattoo, permanent makeup

Immediately after the procedure, a medicine is applied, which accelerates the healing process of the skin. We suggest buying a special ampoule with the above-called medicine for home care. We recommend to apply it 3 times a day for the first 3 days after the procedure.

For the first 24 hours after laser tattoo removal, permanent makeup should be:

    • treat the area with extreme caution
    • do not touch or massage the treated areas, if the continuity of the epidermis has been interrupted, the skin may be gently dried with a sterility swiping and disinfected with Octanisept every few hours until the scab starts to form, after disinfecting the treatment area, we apply a home care medication
    • maintain high hand hygiene, as there is a high risk of secondary infection if the continuity of the epidermis is interrupted
    • avoid increased physical exertion and hot baths
    • cool the surface where the procedure was performed, dry compresses
    • avoid alcohol consumption
    • do not apply any make-up in the area covered by the procedure

If the continuity of the epidermis is interrupted and a scab is formed, after about 3 days the surface begins to itch and exfoliate, then Bephanten can be used until the eyebrows are 100% healed.

After 24 hours after the laser tattoo or PMU removal treatment it is not recommended:

    • use the sauna, swimming pool, cryotherapy, gym for 2 weeks (until the treatment area has healed)
    • use the sun bed for a period of 6 weeks before the procedure and 6 weeks after the procedure – non-compliance with this rule threatens to create discoloration and scalding of the skin
    • to be exposed to sunlight for 6 months, a minimum SPF50 filter cream should be used
    • undergo chemical and mechanical peeling procedures, use alcohol-based skin tonners and creams with fruit acids and vitamin A for a period of 4 weeks after the procedure
    • wash the area with alcohol-containing preparations (Octanisept is permitted only)
    • another laser treatment can be performed after 4-6 weeks. Each time the appointment is set by a specialist based on the assessment and the individual reaction of the skin to the procedure. The greater the reaction of the skin, the greater the intervals between treatments
  • FAQ
  • How many treatments do I need to remove tattoo, makeup with a laser?

The number of treatments and their effectiveness depends on the “quality” of the made make-up – how deeply it was made, its shape, the dyes that were used and on the individual reaction of the body. Sometimes it happens that after one event we have the desired effect, but usually it is a few sessions (2-6).

However, there are also difficult cases when permanent make-up can only be brightened, and we do not manage to get rid of it completely. This is associated with the use of bright pigment – titanium dioxide, with which the laser does not cope. While permanent make-up is usually removed in 100%, then the purpose of removing a tattoo (especially a large one) is most often to lighten it in order to cover with another tattoo later on. Small amateur tattoos are removed completely. Not everyone knows that such an amateur tattoo is definitely easier to remove than the one made in a professional studio. The effectiveness of treatments also depends on the color of the tattoo, it is much easier to remove black tattoos.
